Day 2 and Snow! Part 1

The next day we went to Fribourg which is a beautiful town.  When we left on the train in the morning it was very cold outside and by the time we left Fribourg to take the train home there was snow on the ground.  I have never been in snow except to go to a local mountain for about 5 minutes to play in it.  It is sooooo cold.  I had only brought some tennis shoes with me and the top part is mesh which is NOT conducive  for snow wear.  My toes were just frozen by the time we got back.  Shopping for a new pair of shoes became a number 1 priority.

As you look at these pictures throughout the trip I took pictures of doorways.  They have the most beautiful doors there.

The food they have on display is just beautiful....and delish!  The coffee is nothing like I have ever had before and am trying to replicate it here....to no avail so far.

We had lunch at a thai restaurant - Punkt.  Above is the large screen that they had on the wall that shows the chef creating your meal.  It was very cool to be able to watch him work.
The three lunches that we had.

We went to the Fribourg Cathedral.

And to the Tinguely Museum.  Both Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle's work were displayed here.  Jean Tinguely's work was just extraordinary.  Huge assemblages that move when you step on a button.

This assemblage would take up about a quarter of my house. It was huge.  And to see the wheels move and everything on it interact was just a joy.

You can see how large the assemblage is when you compare it to the people next to it.

The above pieces stood about a foot tall and are by Niki de Saint Phalle.
