la virgen de guadalupe
THis has been a very difficult time for me. My new mantra is "just get me through this day". Kyle is now stationed at Ft. Carson Colorado and is to deploy to afganistan in May. I hate all of this and yet it is what he wants to do. Presently he is freezing in Colorado with temps in the 19's and snow. He has gone from the hot humidity of georgia to the freezing temps in colorado. With Kyle now 18 and Scott 29 I feel at a loss. I have been a mother for 29 years now and all of the sudden it is over. I am so very thankful that I have my art to pour a lot of my energy into. I find that if I stay busy then I am not curled up into a ball crying. So I am keeping my fingers busy weaving rag rugs and also working on a project for an exhibit at Picture This Gallery in Long Beach. They have an annual La Virgen De Guadalupe exhibit and this is what I am working on for it:

I hear your pain. There is nothing I'd like to see more than all our young men brought home from the Middle East. Your Virgen de Guadalupe is awesome not to mention it probably gives you many hours to meditate and pray while you work.

Ayy, I get what you are saying. Makes me glad not to have sons that I have to worry about in the military, and my daughters are way too girly for anything like that. Find your peace in your creating such beautiful art. If you are in thye show in Long Beach, I will try to go see it.
