giant bunny all glued up

all of the gluing of "stuff" onto the giant bunny is done!  next is the grouting which I am so not looking forward to at all.  I am thinking a light grey grout to show off the pink and black stained glass all over her.  I will share photos of her after she has been grouted and installed.....hopefully this week.
look what opened up in the garden yesterday!  I bought some bulbs last summer and just stuck them in a pot and for got about them  I have no idea what they are but we sure are enjoying the color of this one.  more to come!

about mosaic giant bunny

Blogger has once again changed their format and I can't figure out how to add text to the pictures......if it isn't broken, don't fix it.  very frustrating.
So here is about the Giant Mosaic Bunny.  She stands 28" tall and is made from paper mache.  I have had her here FOREVER and now she is finally getting a much needed makeover.  She is being mosaiced with mirror, stained glass and flat marbles.  What you don't see is all the blood from getting cut and poked while setting the mirror/glass in.  When she is all mosaiced she will get a coat of grout, a rebar piece up her bottom and she will be mounted outside on a pillar.....if I could only make her eyes glow in the dark.......

cloth journal

A friend of mine was going to Morocco so I made her a little journal to slip into her purse to take notes while there.  The base of the journal is blue jean, then I wove the strips of fabric together and sewed them onto the blue jean piece, lots of freemotion sewing and hand stitching.  Sequins were added down the spine and the closure bead is a beer cap bead i made.  The inside of the blue jean cover is stamped with a stamp i carved.  Love the colors and the way it turned out!!  bon voyage little journal.........

mosaic table in front yard

Originally this table was found on the side of the freeway, apparently fell out of someone's truck, one leg was a bit broken but jerry fixed that right away. It is made of oak and is quite sturdy but was also quite plain.  Some pink paint and mosaicing the top fixed that!  I used cut tiles and broken mirror to mosaic the top.  Now it sits in the front yard in front of the day bed where the cats can admire it - and humans if the cats let them sit on the day bed.

Street Light Eye

what was once a street light morphed into an eye by the hands of my daughter in law Angela many years ago when they were living on the back of the property.  They have since moved and have reclaimed the eye.  Yesterday jerry dug the hole for the installation and I repainted it in the pallet that Angela originally chose.  It is in front of the newly dug out bed which has been planted with veggie and herb seeds and baracaded to keep dogs from running through it.  I can see the eye from the kitchen window which makes me very very happy!!!
