saying goodbye to pooh

I painted this on Kyle's wall when he was a baby. Now that he has joined the army and is gone we are redoing the room. That means new paint and painting over pooh. You can see where some of the drywall came off when I pulled tape off where kyle taped something to the wall. It served its purpose and now the wall will become something else. Bye Bye Pooh.

vacuum

I know that this is the place for my artwork but I just have to know..........WHY IS THERE A HEADLIGHT ON MY VACUUM????? This really bothers me. There is a HUGE, and I mean HUGE headlight on my vacuum. Do people actually vacuum in the dark and need a headlight on so they can see where they are vacuuming? My husband suggested that this was so you can get under things and see what is under there. If I have to get that far under something to vacuum I will have to get on my hands and knees and if I am on my hands and knees then it is something that I cannot see while standing up and don't care what is under there because I cannot see it... thus is doesn't need to be vacuumed. And this isn't just a tiny little light. If a headlight on my car goes out I can strap the vacuum onto the hood of my car and use that until I get it fixed. Just needed to get this off my chest...............now I will go to my studio and make something so I can post it here. Thanks for listening.

New Purse

I made a new blue jean purse for Bridget. She is modeling it here. She chose the colors that she wanted for the purse and it was such fun to make a purse out of little jeans.

Frida Shrine

Picture This Gallery in Long Beach is having a call for entries for their Frida Kahlo Exhibit. This is the shrine that I made to Frida for entry to the exhibit. I will send them my photos for jury and hope that I will get in. The shrine itself is made from black foamcore, the background picture of her I carved from rubber, the form is a doll form with white tape, silk and nails, there are shards of red glass imbeded in the bottom of the shrine, and a bone in the front of the stand for the form. Frida's name is spelled out in game pieces and surrounded by mirror pieces. The entire piece can be either hung on a wall or placed on a stand.
