Gene Ingles-Ward Workshop

I just finished two days in a mixed media workshop taught by Gene Ingles-Ward at her lovely home in Solvang. Here I am at my work station

The group was divided into two rooms. I was working in the dining room area with Marilyn and the 6 other students were in Gene's studio.

This is the fabulous Gene Ingles-Ward critiquing some of our work. She is the most amazing woman and if you ever get a chance to take one of her work shops it is a must.

We worked on clip boards, folders, mandalas, and yupo paper. We painted, collaged, made wonderful messes and ate the bestest lunches each day provided by Judy and Marilyn. Both days were a much needed get away. A huge thank you to Judy and Marilyn for putting all of this together and to Gene for.....well just being her and sharing so much of herself.

Nothing better, baby back ribs, chicken, mexican onions.......after that the tri tip went on and a kebob of cherry tomatoes. So good.

happenings

I am a very very bad blogger. I try to post something once a week but it has been a bit nutso so I havn't been able to. So now I will get you up to date. The sunset here is at the Pismo Beach Pier from our hotel room balcony. We took a much needed night away to the Sea Venture. Had an ocean front room with a hot tub on the balcony. The evening was wonderful. We are so fortunate to have something like this just 25 minutes up the road from us.

And while I have been gone I had a birthday which included a very yummy mahogany cake!

We celebrated Beltane at Scott and Angelas.

And I hosted a creative womens group meeting potluck.

It is quiet for now but am getting ready to take a mixed media workshop on Monday and Tuesday.
