more rag rug

I am almost done with the rag rug. Just need to finish the middle part, then it comes off the loom. This has been a very very fun project and I will make more when this one is done.

rag rug

While at a quilt show a couple months ago I purchased a rag rug loom. I have always wanted to try this and we are always in need of new throw rugs. And while I had my doubters that this would actually get out of the package and get used, well, it has. This is a very enjoyable process and the loom will get used again and again.

Time keeps slipping away..........

Where has all the time gone. Finally I have some time to sit down and blog. Jerry and I have been taking an art marketing class from Bob and Kate Burridge. http://www.robertburridge.com/ We are learning so much about how to go about marketing my art. I actually learned how to take photos of my work that doesn't have the door in the background. I look back on my photos and cringe. I will have to redo ALL of my photos on this blog because they are horrible. Last night we had two guest speakers and they were so wonderful. Bob and Sharon Hunt. She is a graphite artist and what she can do with a pencil is simply amazing. And to top it off they are really nice and funny people. They are real. Jerry and I so enjoyed meeting them and Jerry got very inspired by Sharon's process. Hopefully this will break him out of his box and get him drawing again. He is so very talented but doesn't do it because he doesn't think he is "good enough". Check out sharon's art http://www.cowgirlart.net/index.htm It was interesting to see both sides of the art marketing world. Bob and Kate have Bob's art in high end galleries while Sharon and Bob do art festivals. I was getting a bit nervous about galleries and my work because my altered wearable art really isn't for galleries but after hearing Bob and Sharon speak I felt better about it because I can do art festivals with my work. Those two really were very inspiring.
On the homefront we have been very busy with Satchel. He is now 12 weeks old and 27 pounds.

Hopefully he will start puppy classes next month. I took him to the farmer's market yesterday and the apple man fell in love iwth him. Offered his booth and h is truck in trade. No, there is nothing I would trade him for. Of course when I came home and tole Kyle this all he wanted to know is what kind of truck it was.
Kyle leaves for bootcamp in four months. Time is going by way to fast for this. How did my baby get so tall and old? I want to make time stop so he doesn't leave.
Art wise I am working on a purse for the Hoffman challenge. I went through all my purse patterns and for the life of me couldn't wrap my mind around any of them. I sat there reading the directions and not understanding any of it. So I put all the patterns back and made my own. Maybe this was what I was supposed to do in the first place. I will post pictures of the process as soon as I take them. Just think lime and pink!!!
